At Floretta P. Carson Visual and Performing Arts Academy, we are deeply committed to supporting the health and wellness of every student. Our school is staffed with a licensed registered nurse who provides a wide range of health services to promote growth, development, and academic success.

Our School Nurses 

Our school nurses are highly trained professionals who provide essential services that support the physical, emotional, and academic well-being of our students.

 

They work to:

• Promote health and safety

• Intervene with actual or potential health problems

• Educate and manage individual student health needs

• Collaborate with students, families, healthcare providers, and school personnel

 

Services include:

• Administering daily medications

• Providing care for students with chronic health conditions such as asthma, allergies, diabetes, seizures, and mental health needs

• Monitoring and managing communicable diseases

• Delivering emergency care for illness or injury

• Offering health education and resources for students and families

• Training staff on student-specific accommodations and emergency protocols

 

By offering daily health services and coordinating care, our school nurse ensures that students can fully access their education regardless of health needs.
